Polymer clay rings

More rings. 4 rings. I still need to sand and buff them however, I needed to finish billing and didn't get finished with that until 7:45pm and just can't take it anymore. I just want to post this and drink my wine. I hope I can still post from time to time. I really did enjoy doing the TAD. It shows me that I can find time to play with clay though my house is pretty dirty and I was behind with my work. Not sure if I will try this next year, but we will see. I really had fun though.

TAD 27 Polymer clay rings again!

More polymer clay rings. I've have made 14 so far which means I have 86 to go. I showed a few polymer clay guilders how to make rings today. I'm sure they will continue making them and share tips and tricks when I see them next. We all made great rings today. I just love the bling, bling, ba-ta-bing rings. Got to love the bling! The rings pictured are not finished of course. I still have to sand and buff them and intend on doing this as soon as I can because I will be wearing all of them at one time. How you wonder to wear 14 rings? I'm sure the toes will come into play. Better wait until the summer gets here as my toes haven't seen the light of day for a long time....

My girl Donna AKA GC, Juicy made me some beautiful blue eye canes. OMG that girl is just way creative. I wish she lived closer so some of that creativity would rub off on me. I am hoping to participate in a few craft shows with her this year. One more day to go.

TAD 26 polymer clay ring

I have another polymer clay ring. I put red faux diamonds from my girl Donna on it. I love it. I just want to keep on going with the rings. What is with me? I find one thing that I like and make it 100 times or more. Is this OCD? I know that if my shoes are unorganized my life is unorganized. Does this mean I have a major problem or does it mean that I love shoes or am I old Mother Hubbard? URG!

I didn't get out of the office until 9:30 and believe me I could have stayed all night but my eyes were getting cross eyed. Hubby said I could help him fix this casserole and could post it for the TAD. Well I started helping him with it thinking he was putting it in the refrigerator overnight to soak up the bread. Nope. Totally wrong.  Crockpot. Can you believe? I will let you know tomorrow if it is worth posting the recipe.

2-27-2010 - We had the cassserole this morning. It turned out pretty good. here is the recipe;

1/2 of sausage

10 slices of bread (hubby used 7)

Yellow mustard (optional)

2 cups cheddar cheese, grated

6 egss beaten

1 1/2 cups milk

salt and pepper to taste

Brown sausage, stirring to crumble. drain fat. Spread mustard on one side of the bread slices; cut bread in quarters. Spray inside of the crock pot with nonstick cooking spray. Layer bread, cheese, and sausage in the crock pot. Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour egg mixture over other ingredients. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. We ate after 9 hours. Enjoy. I am sure you can add to this. This recipe was found in the farmers' Almanac 2010.

TAD 25 Tulip planting

When I went to the garden show, I picked up free tulip bulbs. I bought these Rainbow crystal soil balls. I had to put them in water for 12 hours. I found a glass container and put these pellets in the vase with the tulip bulbs. Looks pretty neat.

Staying very busy and of course tired this week trying to get through work and then billing. 3 more days left. I can't wait to see my polymer clay buddy's this Saturday.

TAD 24 Polymer Clay rings II

I made 3 rings tonight. The pictures show them but not complete because I still need to sand and buff them. Time is 10:48pm and I need to get to bed so I can wake up and do it all over again. It felt like this day was Thursday all day. Man this makes for a long week. The month is almost over.  4 more days and it will be the end of TAD. What happens next?

TAD 23 Polymer clay pendant

This is a faux cloisonné pendant. The first picture is the front after it has been cured. The 2nd picture is the back and the 3rd picture is complete with resin but not dry.  I like the way it came out. Measurements are 3 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Eugena Topina taught me this technique and I have been resinating my piece of the world ever since. Don't sit in one place when you are around me or I will resinate you!!!

Taught my last class for this month on Tuesday. Now I move to Thursday for the month of March. I had my temporary crown glued in today from my root canal 2 weeks ago. Another worker asked me about my necklace and gave her the whole deal about if people ask me if they can buy what I have on I will say yes. Instead when I told her the story as I was leaving she said to bring the pendant back when I go back on March 8th. Why in the heck did I not just give her the necklace then and there? Was I just too tired to comprehend or just too full of Novocain?

TAD 22 pendant

This pendant was made with scraps from the rings I made yesterday. I was going to use resin but decided to sand and buff. The pendant is 2 1/2 by 1 1/2.
This week will be a long week for me as billing is due at the end of the week. I hope I can make my TAD for the rest of the week without going crazy....

TAD 21 polymer clay rings

I have been researching a polymer clay artist online. I found a new book I would like to purchase and waiting for her to come back from the Synergy Conference in Maryland. I looked at her rings and tried to make one or two. Thanks to Bettina Welker. I used my dremel to hollow out the middle due to not having a cutter big or small enough or tall enough. I loved trying this new technique and have a lot to learn. I sanded each piece and buffed it. This is my first try at it. Amazingly the brown and blue ring is very comfortable. I have it on my right pointer finger while I am posting.

This morning I woke up to freezing rain that turned into a freezing rain, snow mix and has been snowing for the remainder of the day and night. A lot of the schools are closed already. Hmmmm. I hope the roads will be cleared by the time I have to get out to work.

TAD 20 Polymer Clay Pendant

Tad_20

This pendant was made to show how to use a 2 part resin after the polymer clay has been cured. This piece is 2 inch round. Everyone had to leave their pieces at Bev's house until they dry. Wonderful day today. I went to Eclectics in Brookside, Missouri and left 15 pieces of my steampunk to see if they are interested in selling my pieces. I went to Bev's house tonight to teach 3 other polymer clay enthusiasts how to use 2 part resin. It was wonderful. Bev had a great chicken casserole. I love when artist come together and share similar but different things. I love my life! HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL !!!
