TAD 18

I am so excited! I went to Wal-Mart today to buy a new coffee pot maker. I bought a Black &  Decker. I remembered Dawna S showing how she made a light box and hunted for a frosted plastic ben. There was nothing frosted. I put it back and went around to the next isle where the clothes hangers were and found this tear, puncture resistant material storage ben. Perfect for a light box. Matter of fact I think I have seen the same material used on the expensive light boxes. The first picture is my TAD 18, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th pictures are my light box and the 5th & 6th picture is my TAD 16. I wished I would have had this on the 16th. It took me forever to take the picture to show all the colors. Oh well. Thank you my peep Dawna Sharp.

TAD 17 was "I can't even draw a stick man" Necklace by Brenda Schweder who was in the Wirework magazine Spring 2011. It calls for annealed steel wire which I didn't have and ended up using artisan wire. I really would love to start working with this annealed wire though.  It literally took me 30 minutes as I had to go to the auxiliary planning meeting at 7pm where we started making the liberty bell out of gold poppies. I am not sure how many gold poppies we had but we need more black poppies for the yolk. Just got home. It took 3 hours to complete this much of the bell. The poppy display will go to state to be voted on to see if it will go to National. Last year our display went to National in Indianapolis.  Wish us luck…. VFW Post 7397 Ladies Auxiliary

I was so excited to get my Polymer Café in the mail today. A beautiful industrial scrap pendant adorned the cover by Lynn Reno. I had to try it of course for my TAD 16. It was harder trying to take a picture of all the beautiful colors. I love the way it turned out.

TAD 15 is the same technique as yesterday, cinnabar. What I did figure out; you really need to have a better stamp in order to complete the technique. When I was in Nan Roches' class learning this technique it didn't take so long to sand the piece. We used Japanese molds. The deeper the better I guess. I need to go to www.ebay.com

TAD 14 Polymer clay - Cinnabar technique that Nan Roche taught me in Wisconsin. It requires a lot of sanding but just love the result. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.

TAD 12

TAD 12: The first picture is the back of a bead created using mokume Gane Technique. The 2nd picture is the front. The 3rd picture is the bead exchange from the KC Polymer Clay Guild 2010. I wired them together and still need to finish the clasp. The 4th picture is a chunky bracelet, again a mistake that I made today at the Kansas City Polymer clay guild quarterly play day. The channel bracelet came out great but the white and black circles that I replaced did not fuse together during curing so number 4 of being unsuccessful. You would think I could get it right the 4th time, but ohhhh nooooo. It was so great seeing TAD hesshatcreek. I owe her money for lunch. She will be coming back in March. I shall buy her a big margarita to pay her back.

I had a long day. Work of course then to the post for steak dinner. We sold 83 dinners and guess who washed all of the dishes? Yep it was me. I had wonderful help thank goodness otherwise I would still be there. When I was growing up I hated washing dishes. I guess when you are washing dishes for 83 people it just makes you want to do more dishes. All the proceeds go to the VFW men for a new roof for the post. My TAD 11 is 2 pendants. The first picture is made with small flower canes. I used paper tag round metal to surround the piece and painted the edges with silver metallic paint. the other  pendant is 20 gauge wire and my tiny flowers. Until tomorrow. Both had resin on top.

Talk about not being creative this evening. I tried all kinds of things and ended up trying to recreate one of my pendants that broke. Of course that is very hard to do especially when you are using the Mokume Gane technique. The first picture is my TAD 10. The next picture are small pendants that I made too. The last pendant is the one that I broke and heated it up again and cut it straight to fix it. It was my favorite one. Darn the luck. I still need to sand and buff TAD 10.

Ya'll the 1st picture is TAD 15 from last year. My steampunk got pregnant. It takes a steampunk mother 1 year to give birth to her babies. Why, you say? Well she has a litter. Due to the steampunk babies being born a little early they came out with yellow jaundice. It took a few days but they are jaundice free now and steampunk mom is so excited to have her babies. She heard they will be sporting as charms for 6 other creative artists that are participating in a charm exchange..
